Shock collapse at Newark

A big blow to the promotion challenge but a feather in the cap of Newark RM who did the double over us in their relegation season. Having limited the home team to 155 (the usual hand from Eddy G and Taimoor Tasnim), all was set fair at 93-1. Then both form man Alan Lewis (40) and Matt Footitt (30) fell at that score and the rest was a series of early departures to McKay and Cobb. In short: 9 wickets fell for 36 runs! Any consolation in the ruins of this implosion? Well, yes, as both RoT and WB lost! So we are 6 points behind Radcliffe with the final day coming up. A real challenge this - against the top team Bramcote - but all is not lost. Eddy G limped away from Newark and on Sunday a toe fracture was diagnosed at the QMC, so whether he will be able to add to his 36 wickets and lead the team must be a real doubt.
